Deviled Spider Eggs

Spider Web Deviled Eggs (Small Batch)

Makes: 6 deviled egg halves (3 eggs)

Ingredients

3 large eggs

1 tsp white vinegar (for boiling)

2–tbsp mayonnaise

1 tsp yellow mustard

Salt and pepper to taste

A few drops of black food coloring (or purple for a fun twist)

Optional: paprika or black sesame seeds for garnish

For the Spider Web Effect:

1 cup water

1 tsp vinegar

½ tsp salt

A few drops of black or dark blue food coloring

Instructions

Boil the Eggs: Place the eggs in a small pot and cover with water. Add 1 tsp vinegar. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

Cool and Crack: Drain and rinse the eggs with cold water. Gently tap each egg all over with the back of a spoon to create cracks — the more the better! Don’t peel them yet.

Make the “Spider Web” Dye:

In a bowl or resealable bag, mix 1 cup water, 1 tsp vinegar, ½ tsp salt, and a few drops of black (or blue) food coloring.

Dye the Cracked Eggs: Place the cracked eggs into the dye and let them sit in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for a deeper web effect. Peel and Slice: Peel the eggs carefully — you’ll see spooky web-like patterns!

Slice each egg in half lengthwise and remove the yolks.

Make the Filling: Mash the yolks with mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper until creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Assemble: Spoon or pipe the filling into the egg whites. Sprinkle lightly with paprika or black sesame seeds for contrast.

Optional Spider Garnish: Make little “spiders” on top using black olives — one olive half for the body and thin slices for legs!

Serve chilled and enjoy your creepy, delicious Spider Web Deviled Eggs!
