Haunt Spot: The Queen Mary

Docked on the Long Beach Harbor, is The Queen Mary; Majestic, massive and looming over the water. The Queen Mary began her life in 1936 as one of the most luxurious ships on the season, carrying celebrities, royalty, and thousands of travelers across the Atlantic. During World War II she was painted a dull gray and transformed into a troopship, ferrying soldiers to battle. After the war in the 1960’s her sailing days came to an end, and dropped anchor for good in Long Beach, California where she remains today, a floating hotel and museum.

And a haunted one, at that.

Visitors whisper about cold spots, in empty hallways, the sound of children laughing in the long-closed swimming pools and shadowy figures vanishing into thin air. Guests have reported hearing footsteps echoing behind them, and only to turn and find no one there.

Called one of the most haunted places in America, and whether you are a believer or not, stepping aboard feels like crossing into another world.

So the next time you’re in Long Beach, take a tour, or stay the night, if you dare.

I’m Rosieghostie

A Bay Area ghoul enchanted by crisp fall days, fresh pumpkin scent, and icy Coca-Colas because even witches need a caffeine kick. With a wardrobe rooted in hoodies, jeans and Halloween iconic orange and black. I’m the happiest surrounded by a cheeseburger, rainy afternoons, and spooky movies, maybe even scrap booking or junk journaling while thunder rolls (Other than being at Disneyland, that is!).

My collections range from Halloween knickknacks and foreign coins to Disney treasures, all inspired by glowing pumpkins and dreams of exploring Europe’s cobblestone streets and haunted castles.

I invite you into my Spooky corner of the inter-webs and stay awhile…
