From the Crypt…

Did you know that Halloween is over 2000 years old? It began with SAMHAIN, an ancient, Celtic Festival marking the end of Harvest and start of Winter. People believe the veil between the living and the dead was the thinnest on October 31st. So they lit bonfires, and wore costumes to scare away spirits. Over time, this blended with Roman and Christian traditions to become the holiday we know of today.

BONUS: Pumpkins weren’t the original Jack O’Lanterns, turnips were.

I’m Rosieghostie

A Bay Area ghoul enchanted by crisp fall days, fresh pumpkin scent, and icy Coca-Colas because even witches need a caffeine kick. With a wardrobe rooted in hoodies, jeans and Halloween iconic orange and black. I’m the happiest surrounded by a cheeseburger, rainy afternoons, and spooky movies, maybe even scrap booking or junk journaling while thunder rolls (Other than being at Disneyland, that is!).

My collections range from Halloween knickknacks and foreign coins to Disney treasures, all inspired by glowing pumpkins and dreams of exploring Europe’s cobblestone streets and haunted castles.

I invite you into my Spooky corner of the inter-webs and stay awhile…
